Stop Insomnia With Chinese herbs

According to a USA Today article, in 1950 approximately 7.5 hours of sleep a night were the norm for most Americans. These days, sleep the average American for about 6.5 hours a day, and if you are a full time student chances are you will get even smaller. So how are we all function with so much less sleep? There are a whole night's sleep, missing in our lives every week. Unfortunately, cutting down on sleep appears to have been the norm in our society.

Studies have shown that we need 7-8 hours of sleep a night to be high-function during the day. It is a common belief that sleeping in on weekends will somehow balance out the sleep debt incurred during the week. However, once you start to cut sleep during the week again, there is a significant effect on alertness, mood and performance. A study in 1995 found that there is significant sleep loss in 1 / 3 of U.S. adults. This state of perennial sleepiness is estimated to provide about 2 to 56 billion dollars in sleep-related accidents on the road each year, and even more in lost productivity, medical illness, or premature failure secondary to sleepiness or sleep pathology.

Because of both the normal aging process and modern societal pressures to succeed, our hours in bed constantly sacrificed. Those who work the graveyard shifts tend to collect the maximum amount of sleepiness, as they are sleeping under a bad circadian time. also the introduction of electricity, in some ways, mixed with our natural circadian rhythms. The main reason is that melatonin, a hormone involved in helping us to fall asleep at night, is only produced in the absence of light. When light hits the retina, is a signal sent via the optic nerve to the pineal gland that causes melatonin production to cease. With our ability to create artificial light (ie computer monitors and television), the release of melatonin deferred until such equipment has been turned off. Melatonin supplements often work to help restore its natural circadian rhythm, but too often this is not enough. For many people, the next option to keep sleep buy prescription sleep aids. Although drugs can help, they have a short-term effect that disappears quickly when you stop taking them. This makes it necessary to constantly renew stocks of sleep aids, which monetarily set add up quickly, and often addicting.

Chinese herbs offer a different type of solution. traditional Chinese medicine has treated insomnia cycle for hundreds of years. The theory needs explanation first. It is about a reversal of the energy of our spirit. It's up at night, head to stimulate our brains instead of sleeping in our hearts where Chinese medicine believe our spirit is saved and nourished while we sleep. When our heads thinking too much about the night it does not allow the heart to rest.

Chinese herbal medicine is extremely effective in curing this type of short-term insomnia problems. Herbal Medicine calms the mind, nourishes the blood (heart), anchors the spirit (metaphorically) and allows the heart to beat quietly into a natural sleep. It is not addicting, and after used for a short period, acute insomniacs returned to a normal sleep pattern without the use of herbs. If you have have not tried Chinese herbal medicine for insomnia account, you need to find a good acupuncturist who can help you with the correct prescription of herbs that make all the difference in both nighttime and daytime hours.
